Princess Reema Gave CNN’s Christian Amanpour Some Encouraging Statements About The Kingdom

Avatar

In her latest interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, has once again shown us why she’s such a magnetic force.

In the interview, the princess talks about Saudi Arabia’s progression and how there is no turning back now that it has moved forward, this time, including women in the milestone.

The interview was aired a say after the ban on women driving in the Kingdom was lifted.

“This is our current state, and this is the future state.”

During the interview, Princess Reema discussed how absolutely enthralled she was about everyone that stayed up and got in the car at midnight to take the drive. She said that the symbolism of those actions represent women taking control, but not alone, collectively.

It’s a relief and now, honestly, the onus is on us to take the next step forward in the growth of the inclusion of women in our community. I’m wonderfully excited. I’m excited for everybody that actually stayed up and got in the car at midnight to take this drive because the symbolism of that is that we’re taking control, but we’re taking control collectively.

This isn’t a singular activity, this isn’t an anomaly. This is our current state, and this is the future state. This isn’t something you go back from.

The princess also applauded all the big changes that took place in the Kingdom in the last year

She credited all the shifts that have occurred in Saudi in the last year since Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was appointed crown prince.

“We went from a community saying no, do not participate in sports, to women entering the stadiums, to traveling the world with young female athletes and that’s just in my small sector.”
