A Saudi Folk Group Performed New Zealand’s Traditional Dance Along With A Local One As A Gesture Of Peace And Harmony

A heartwarming gesture took place in Riyadh earlier this week when two traditional dances were performed together as a gesture of love and peace.

The traditional war and ceremonial dances of New Zealand and Saudi Arabia were performed as homage to the new New Zealand attack

The Haka is a traditional Māori war and ceremonial dance that is performed traditionally used on the battlefield, as well as when groups came together in peace. The Saudi dance, Al Dahha, has a similar symbolic meaning and was also performed.

The performance was made by the Saudi folk group, Nasem Alshamel, at the Riyadh Park Mall

It was filmed by director Hamood Al Shammry at the local mall and is part of a short film pertaining to the Christchurch mosque terrorist attacks back in March.

The film was shot in Saudi Arabia and is set to be screened soon.
