There’s Nothing These 7 Well-Known Riyadhi Comfort Food Can’t Fix

Avatar

Saudi Arabia is home to many great dishes- some local, others international.

But no one can deny the variety of comforting and ‘nostalgic’ snacks and food that every Riyadhi has once and still feasts on.

This list probably won’t do it all justice, but here’s 7 we could think of (from the top of our heads)

1. Mama Noura’s shawarmas

SAR4 shawarma and a banana juice and your life is pretty much set. It’s impossible to be from Riyadh and have never tried this gem.

It’s just too gooood.

2. Samouly with cheese and chips

A beloved quick-fix for anyone hungry, this goes so well with tea too. Oddly enough.

3. Filipino, Thai and Chinese food at The Villa Restaurant

This place has become a go-to for locals and expats alike. Located near The Eye Hospital, this gem has been around for as long as we can remember.

Craving tom yum soup or tapsilog?

Here’s your spot, for sure.

4. SAMBOOSA and mini pizzas

Filling and straight-to-the-point. A staple for events and gatherings in the Kingdom.

5. Twix and gahwa?!

Break the Twix in half along with your Arabic coffee= life.

6. Beef liver in samouly at Saeed Al Has

It’s been around for 40 years, and that inexpensive beef in bread definitely fills cravings we’ve had about this place.

7. MANDI for SAR 10-20 = lunch settled!

No explanation needed.
