The country is pushing for tech reforms and almost every governmental interaction that one can think of is nowadays done online. The red-tape and long queues are things of bygone days.
Recently, the country started to issue e-marriage contracts making the process of getting married much easier.
According to the Saudi Gazette, the e-marriage contracts will be issued through the Ministry of Justice website. Once on the portal, users will have to register the couple’s details, choose a marriage official along with the date and time and then document the contract online.
While registering the couple will also have to upload various documents like a pre-medical report and divorce certificate in case of a second marriage. They will also have to list the various conditions of the marriage contract and the amount of dowry that the groom has paid to the bride.
