Hundreds Of Saudis Have Been Evacuated From Lebanon Amid The Current Political Protests

Avatar

Saudi Arabia has evacuated hundreds of nationals, with more to be evacuated in the coming days, from Lebanon following the ongoing demonstrations in the country.

Hundreds of thousands of protestors are currently on the streets of Lebanon in protest of the economic conditions of the country

Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Lebanon has put into effect a “Crisis and Emergency Management Plan” to help nationals travel back to the Kingdom.

It has been reported that nearly 300 nationals have already been helped get evacuated earlier and that the embassy will evacuate more people as Lebanon’s rather peaceful protests enter their sixth day.

Saudi nationals – who are still in Lebanon – have also been urged to avoid crowded protest areas. According to embassy officials, no Saudi citizens are involved in the demonstrations and none have been hurt.
