Illegal expatriates living in abandoned cemeteries of the Okaisha area in Makkah might be asked to evacuate soon. According to Saudi Gazette, people of Makkah have complained about those in refuge at the old cemeteries due to the fact that it ‘violates the sanctity of the dead.’

Some of them have reportedly used the graveyards as dumping grounds 

According to Al-Madina newspaper, the walls around the said cemeteries have collapsed and frail since no maintenance work has been done to maintain it. Most of the burial places being used in Makkah are the ones in Al-Mualla and Al-Adl cemeteries. 

People are asking authorities to interfere fast and not allow vandalising in these grounds.
