Nearly Half Of The International Schools In The Kingdom Are Expected To Shut Down By The End Of Next Year

Avatar

The verdict is in – people in Saudi Arabia prefer public schools over private international ones.

An international education chief has predicted a drop in the number of international schools in the Kingdom.

He has also predicted the closure of about 40 percent of these schools by the end of 2018

This is because of the low financial returns and high operating expenses of running the schools.

A decrease in the number of students by more than 50 percent has already lead to some school owners cutting periodic expenditures by 60 percent and dispense 20 percent of the teaching staff, according to Al-Watan Saudi newspaper.

Interesting, there has been no change in the fees of international schools but the number of students keep dropping.

The main reason for this is being reported to be the difficulty of the curriculum
