Last night, Saudi Arabia issued a royal decree that will allow women to drive. It is a landmark ruling for the nation and represents a change in both legally and in society.
The decree will take effect next June rather than immediately.
The international media responded. US President Donal Trump’s daughter Ivanka, who has an office in The White House, praised Saudi Arabia for the ruling and called it an ‘historic day’
