King Salman Personally Awarded The Saudi Champions From The Summer Youth Olympics

Avatar

Now, a lot of you may have missed out on the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics but Saudi Arabia did manage to put up a respectable performance at the event.

Saudi Arabia won one gold medal in karate and two bronze medals in weightlifting and 400m hurdles respectively.

In the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, the kingdom didn’t win a single medal, so this year’s result was a considerable improvement.

The winners were already bestowed with many prizes upon their return last year including a SAR 1 million cash prize by Turki Al-Sheikh to Mohammed Al-Assiri who won the gold medal.

Recently, the winners along with the members of the delegation got an opportunity to meet King Salman.

The King then personally awarded the winners and took photographs with them.

With the 2020 Tokyo Olympics being just a year way, these youth who have won medals and gave the kingdom their best ever performance at the Youth Olympics have surely boosted the expectations of the Saudi side.
