Saudi Arabia is pledging to pay US $20 million (approx. SAR 75,009,000) to aid in resolving the crisis with Rohingya refugees. The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian work (KSARelief) represented the Kingdom in Geneva on Monday, wiith Dr. Yahya Al Shammari stating the pledge and extending his appreciation towards the European Union for hosting the conference to raise rapid aid for Rohingya Muslims who have left Myanmar.

He commended the role Bangladesh played in opening its borders to more than 500,000 Rohingya refugees from Myanmar since August 25th this year. Al- Shammari noted that Saudi Arabia has also received more than 300,000 Rohingya Muslims in the last 40 years, making the Kingdom come second following Bagladesh, to host and provide aid to refugees.
Along with this, Saudi Arabia has also provided humanitarian help, worth approximately $66 million in the last ten years- to reduce the suffering of Rohingya muslims, according to Saudi Press Agency.
The King Abdullah Foundation launched a lead to help more than 76,000 refugee Rohingya children with educational support along with the United Nation’s Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB).
The initiative will help educate children who have fled Myanmar after the persecutions and ethnic cleansing that have been taking place.
