The man’s act had been recorded and went viral on social media. If caught, he can get fined a sum of SAR 10,000 for tampering with the Saudi currency and could face up to five years in prison.
Social media users, according to Saudi Gazette, were fuming at the act, calling it completely irresponsible. In the video, the man could be seen inserting a number of the Saudi riyals in a loaf of bread then feeding it to his camel.
Talaat Hafiz, chairman of the banking awareness committee, announced detest over the act and found that it was disrespectful to the national symbol of the Saudi currency.
Apart from this, several users also commented on the actual publishing of the video online (yet another crime) and the camel’s wellbeing.
