Baha residents woke up to a nightmarish  news this morning. 

A municipal employee shots and kills the mayor of a village and the commits suicide, according to Baha Police Chief Saad Tarrad Al Ghamdi.

More details will be released soon, he said according to arabic daily Al Sabaq and AlYoum 

The motives are yet unknown and the police have launched an investigation.

Saudi has one of the lowest murder rates in the WORLD and residents are obviously SHOCKED and TERRIFIED.

And This Wasn’t The Only One..

In another district of Al Baha this week, An employee shot 3 of his colleagues in a municipal department.

He shot them with a Kalashnikov machine gun after a scuffle broke out among them. One of them died instantly while 2 others died in Hospital. 

What We Know…

The police received a call at 8:15 AM. An eye witness has said there were no previous arguments among them and the assault started after they had breakfast. 

A colleague who was close to the crime scene later took the gun from the culprit’s hand and emptied the bullets in the air.  

The culprit has been arrested.

Residents are sharing condolences for the Mayor

And Anger too citing the murderer as a ‘betrayer’.
