Over 2700 Saudi Men And Women Were Caught Begging Last Year

The number of women beggars caught trumps the men by a huge margin.

Every now and then those living in Saudi do come across beggars despite the Ministry of Labor and Social Development’s persistent efforts begging still continues in the country.

According to the Saudi Gazette, 2,710 Saudis were caught begging around the country last year.

Out of the total figure, 2,140 of those caught were women.

Earlier a video went viral in the country that showed a street cleaner paying alms to a beggar. What made this video go viral though is the fact that the person paying alms in this case was a street cleaner, a profession that is notorious for being one of the least paid in the country.
