Prince AlWaleed Bin Talal Has Donated A Generous Amount Of Cars For Female Careem Captains
His Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz al Saud has given a generous aid to Careem KSA, by providing the first 100 cars to enable Saudi women to work as Captainahs.
The philanthropic deed was funded by the Alwaleed Philanthropies, in order to empower Saudi women to join the workforce and further progress the Kingdom’s society.
The first 100 vehicles were delivered to Careem on Sunday
In an official statement made by Prince Alwaleed via Twitter, the generous giving of 100 vehicles for Saudi women to make use of were announced. The cars were distributed to the Captainahs (female Careem drivers) at the Aljazirah Vehicles Agencies in Riyadh.
Her Royal Highness Princess Lamia AlSaud alongside several representatives from the Alwaleed Philanthropies organisation were all intact, according to the Alwaleed Philanthropies official website.

Female Captainahs started working on June 24, following the lift of the ban on women driving
More than 2,000 women registered, hopeful to work with the car-hailing app Careem since the lift of the ban in June 24. This parallels in well with the Vision 2030 to increase women’s participation in the labor force from the current 22% to 30%.
Having women drive in the Kingdom has also helped Saudi families save up more due to the reduction of financial burden by hiring family drivers.
Careem plans to pave way to 20,000 more female drivers under its wing by the year 2020
In two years, Careem plans to hire 20,000 more women as Captainahs. These prospective female drivers will undergo an intensive training in a special training center just for them.
