Remains of a mammoth and other samples have been discovered in Saudi’s Nafud Desert, in the eastern side of the town Tayma, by the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS).
Remains of a mammoths’ tusks, ribs, and forearms were found and these make up approximately 84% of the mammoth. That’s enough for us to get to see how it might have actually look (in size, appearance, etc).
Arab News reports that more than 300 samples had been discovered since the study began in late 2014. SGS’ official spokesman, Tareq Aba Al-Kheil, even told the news media that these date back to 500,000 years old.
