Saudi Arabia’s Flag Has Special Rules And You Should Definitely Know Them

With flag day just coming to an end last night, you should definitely keep note of the do’s and don’t for the nation’s special flag.

Saudi Arabia’s flag isn’t just any flag, it’s a powerful symbol of faith and national pride, and there are strict rules about how it should be treated.

Here’s a quick and easy breakdown of what NOT to do with it!

No old or damaged flags!
If a flag is faded or in bad shape, it must not be used. Instead, it should be properly destroyed by the organization or individual responsible for it.

No commercial use!
You can’t use the flag in logos, branding, or for any business-related purposes.

No weird placements!
The flag shouldn’t be used to tie things, carry items, or, (this one’s serious) be placed on animals. Also, it must be stored properly, not crumpled up or left somewhere it could get dirty.

No decorations or edits!
No extra slogans, images, or designs can be added to the flag. It should be flown as is, without any modifications.

No upside-down flag!
The Saudi flag should never be raised upside down, no matter what. It must always fly freely, not tied tightly to the pole.

No touching the ground!
The flag must not touch the ground, water, or even a table. The only exception is the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ flag, which has the national emblem (two swords and a palm tree) in the lower corner near the flagpole.

Saudi Arabia takes its flag seriously, and these rules ensure it’s always treated with the respect it deserves! 🇸🇦✨
