Early 2018 saw a spike in unemployment in Saudi Arabia but the figures went down over the year, according to newly released statistics.
The results also revealed that there has been a decrease in unemployment rates among Saudi women – driven by the many initiatives taken by the government to encourage women to enter the work force (such as allowing women to drive).
During the third quarter of 2018, the unemployment rates dropped to 30.9 percent among Saudi women, from 31.1 percent in the second quarter.
