Hussein Al-Qahtani, spokesperson for the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), shared that while Saudi Arabia will have a cold winter, it won’t be as intense as previous years. Speaking on Al-Ekhbariya’s “120 Program,” Hussein shared the details on how this winter might be different than you’re expecting. The NCM plans to release a detailed climate report soon, outlining the season’s weather patterns.
Saudi Arabia has had its fair share of intense winters in the past, with some regions even witnessing snowfall! Areas like Tabuk, Turaif, and other northern parts of the Kingdom have seen snow-covered landscapes, turning the desert into a winter wonderland. Riyadh has also experienced some seriously cold temperatures, dropping below freezing during the chilliest nights. People bundle up in coats and scarves, and it’s hard to believe how cold it can get in a country known for its heat!
Even though winter in Saudi might not seem like a big deal, the past seasons have definitely brought some surprising and icy moments
