Yup, you heard it right. The Kingdom’s national carrier is looking into offering pilot- training scholarships for women to soon fly the skies.
This week has been nothing but good news for the women of Saudi and this one might just take the cake: first the streets, soon the skies.
Sources reported that the airlines is looking to destory the taboos, similar to women driving, in the Kingdom, according to Gulf News.
Hanadi Zakariya, who was Saudi’s first licensed female pilot in 2014, personally went through this when she tried applying to jobs in the Kingdom. Shortly after, she was flying luxury private plans owned by Waleed bin Talal for the Kingdom Holding Company.
She recently tweeted an updated renewal of her piloting license, and says ‘impossible is not in her dictionary.’
