Saudi’s Aramco Has Appointed The First Woman To Their Board Reaching Another Milestone For The Kingdom

Avatar

Aramco, Saudi’s best-known oil company, announced the appointing of five new additions to their board, including a female executive. The great news was announced on Sunday, leading the Kingdom into even more progress in terms of women’s inclusion in the workforce.

As one of the world’s leading oil companies, another milestone was certainly reached- having the first woman executive to join their board, reported Reuters.

Aramco’s chosen leading lady

Aramco, without a doubt, seemed to have appointed the best person for the position. Lynn Laverty Elsenhans is the former chairwoman, president and CEO of a U.S.-based oil refinery. With over 28 years of experience working for Royal Dutch Shell as executive vice president, she was also given accolade by Forbes.

Yup. In 2008, Elsenhans was chosen by Forbes as one of the world’s most powerful woman. A title she shares with another one of our Saudi female pride, Mrs. Lubna Olayan.

Elsenhans and the four other new members of Aramco’s board will join recurring members such as Amin Nasser, Aramco’s chief executive and Khalid Al-Falih, Energy Minister.
