The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) shared grief and sorrow over the tragedy of the Indonesian Lion Air passenger plane.
A Lion Air aircraft crashed into the sea only minutes after its take-off from Jakarta, none of the 189 passengers have yet to be found alive, reports SPA.
The OIC’s Secretary-General, Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen, extended his sincere condolences to the Republic of Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo and all of Indonesia over the tragedy of the incident. Al-Othaimeen expressed his most heartfelt sympathies to the families and relatives of the victims.

According to CNN, the Lion Air flight JT 610 disappeared on Monday morning, carrying with 189 passengers, three of which were children.
Only 13 minutes after take-off, the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 left Indonesia’s capital of Jakarta for a supposed one-hour flight to Pangkal Pinang.
The search and rescue operations have been ongoing and are expected to continue for three days. So far, a couple of items have been found in the sea close to the coast of Java.
