Several Arab Leaders And Organisations Say They Stand By Saudi Arabia Amid The Disappearance Of Khashoggi

Several Arab leaders from neighboring countries from the MENA region, as well as organisations have fully-expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, discarding the ill-natured media campaign reportedly being done by the Kingdom’s enemies.

According to Saudi Gazette, The Muslim World League (MWL), The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and even the secretary general of the GCC Council have all rejected the threats and attempts against Saudi Arabia following the mysterious disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Kuwait was one of the first Arab countries to express its rejection over the ‘campaign against Saudi’

According to Reuters, Kuwait’s deputy prime minister Anas al-Saleh said on Monday that it rejects the campaign against the Kingdom over Khashoggi’s disappearance. Al-Saleh reiterated the GCC state’s support for Saudi Arabia “in facing all those who wish to harm its sovereignty.”

UAE’s President, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, affirmed the Emirates’ solidarity against ‘all attempts to undermine the Kingdom’s regional stature’

A video footage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum being asked what Saudi means to him has also gone viral on Twitter to which he responded saying ‘Saudi Arabia is the mother and father of the GCC.”

Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry also released a statement affirming its solidarity

“The Kingdom of Bahrain also commends the high position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as it is considered the basis for security and stability of the Arab and Islamic world.”

Oman, Jordan, Palestine and Yemen have also expressed their support for the Kingdom, among many other countries

Saudi and Turkey are working together to further investigate into the case of Khashoggi’s disappearance

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques thanked the Turkish President for welcoming Saudi’s proposal to form a unified team to discuss and further look into Jamal Khashoggi’s disappearance.

The Saudi Press Agency shared the official statements on Sunday via Twitter, saying “Turkish President appreciated the fraternal, distinguished, historical and close relations between the two countries and the two peoples and his keenness to consolidate and develop them.”
