It’s Possible That Some Shops Might Not Stay Closed During Prayer Times

Its one of those things that is in the news just nonstop in Saudi Arabia – should shops remain closed during prayer times or not?

The relevant authorities have been discussing this issue for several years now and working on finding the most effective balance

And the Saudi Shoura Council just met up again to discuss the issue.

This time around there are conversations about, perhaps, leaving petrol stations and pharmacies open during prayer hours (but other shops will remain closed).

While nothing has been confirmed yet, the discussion is ongoing and will be playing out in the coming weeks.
