Tragedy struck a family in the northwestern region of Tabuk, when six of their children burned and suffocated to death in a horrible fire. According to The Khaleej Times, five girls aged 19, 15, 14,10 and 8 and a son whose 7 years old all passed away due to sustained burns and suffocation.
The father of the house, Aidah Musaid Alanzi, woke immediately from his sleep from the sound of his three-year-old son crying. He was, thankfully, able to find his way out the home which was then dark and smoke-filled from the fire.
Alanzi’s twenty-year-old daughter managed to flee the fire but was still hospitalised. The mother and another son were visiting other relatives before the incident took place.

“…and what happened is painful for any man to lose his daughters and children in a blink of an eye.”

Khaleej Times reports that hundreds of the family’s neighbours came to pay their respects. Although no actual cause has been reported for reason of the fire, speculations say it might have been from an electrical short-circuit.
In a similar report by Saudi Gazette, it was mentioned that Tabuk’s Emir Prince Fahd Bin Sultan has given instructions to the provide the family with a new home and to make sure all their medical care and support is taken care of.
