The $450 Million Da Vinci Painting Was Reportedly Bought By A Mystery Buyer From The Saudi Royal Family
The renowned Leonardo Da Vinci painting “Salvator Mundi”, soon to visit Abu Dhabi’s Louvre, was reportedly purchased by a Saudi prince who paid US $450 million for the piece.
Who is this prince?
According to The New York Times, it is Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan al-Saud who bought the $450 million painting.

Reportedly, its high price point of $450 million also includes buyer’s fees. Makes sense, for an almost historic piece by Leonardo da Vinci.
The painting’s name translates to ‘Savior of the World’, and it was sold just last month to Prince Bader, a friend of Saudi’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
There had been no confirmation yet from Prince Bader’s side, and the auction spot Christie’s has refused to comment on the information, according to NYTimes.
Regardless who owns it now, the painting is definitely a beauty. And, it’s coming to The Louvre in Abu Dhabi to showcase itself in the newly-opened museum.
