On to bigger things this week as Saudi plans to completely wipe off illiteracy by 2024. With programs and conjoined efforts by leaders throughout the years, the rate of illiteracy has been reduced at a larger scale since 1972.
The illiteracy rate in Saudi Arabia today is less than 5.6%, according to government data sourced by Saudi Gazette.

Saudi students are going to partake in the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) for the first time ever. Additionally, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) will celebrate Arab Literacy Day on January 8.
