The Public Transport Authority (PTA) has announced designated taxis for Umrah pilgrims, worshippers and visitors of the Grand Mosque in Makkah. Khaleej Times reports that the cabs will be called ‘Haram Cabs and are set to launch in six months.
To better guide visitors, screens with signs in a multitude of languages will help pilgrims hail cabs. Normal taxis, at this point, will then be stopped from entering the central area. An investor will have access to owning 200 of the cabs, provided they also obtain al icense to operate.
