The Metro Being Built In Riyadh Is Going To Change EVERYTHING In The City

Avatar

The King AbdulAziz Public Transport in Riyadh will host a metro line that’s going to revolutionze the transportation system in the city. The project is intended to cater to the city’s multiplying amount of people, which has already reached more than 6 MILLION.

By 2028, the population is estimated to reach 8.3 MILLION people, according to Saudi Gazette.

That is a whole lot.

It will help ease traffic flow with a number of added factors like…

A mobile phone app has also been created to help drivers reach their destination, while being able to show them the traffic areas for reroutes.

The Riyadh metro will extend to 176 km long with 85 metro stations!

85 metro stations?! Imagine the places we could get to, in a shorter nick of time. The metro line will mostly be situated in overcrowded areas, educational, commercial and even medical institutions.

The metro will also be connected to the King Khalid International Airport…

How convenient for travellers in the future! Oh, and did we mention it will also be in msiain universities and the Financial District.

Something for everybody.

It’ll also include six lines, with a blue line reaching Al-Hayer, Batha and Olaya and the red line reaching King Abdullah Road. A third line (orange) will pass through Madinat Road and Prince Saad Bin Abdulrahman Road, while the fourth (yellow) line will go through the airport and back. The Fifth (green) line passes by King Abdulaziz Road and the last 6th (violet) line will reach Abdulrahman Bin Auf Road.

The trains will operate WITHOUT a driver

It will run automatically and central control rooms will be used from afar to operate and monitor these trains daily

Exciting!
