If you’ve been hearing the rumors going around the Kingdom that the expatriate’s dependents’ fee will soon be revoked, think again, for the rumors will now be put to a halt.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Development confirmed on Wednesday, via its official Twitter account, that the information circulating on social media is ‘far from the truth.’
In fact, the same rumors also went around and circulated the expatriate community earlier this year. What the dependents’ fee is, is that every expat worker who came into force in July 2017 is required to have their dependent (usually person who hired them) pay the Ministry a fee of SAR100 per dependent per month.
From 2017, this fee will continue to increase up another SAR 100 until it reaches SAR400 per dependent per month in 2020.
