The US National Security Adviser Has Made A Simple And Direct Retort To The Khashoggi Tape Allegations

Avatar

In a recent report by Bloomberg, U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton made remarkably straightforward statements about the recent allegations attempting to link HH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the alleged recordings of the late journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s death.

Khashoggi was a Saudi columnist for the Washington Post who was killed on Oct. 2 inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

When asked about the recordings, Bolton made very direct statements expressing his opinion

While attending a regional summit in Singapore, Bolton retorted to the allegations of several countries having heard a tape of Khashoggi’s death inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, saying he had not heard the tape himself.

Bolton added that the tapes do not link His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman to the allegations being made either, adding “That’s not the conclusion I think that the people who heard it have come to, and that’s certainly not the position of the Saudi government.”

Speaking on behalf of US President Donald Trump, Bolton reaffirmed the US and Saudi’s keenness on determining more details

The president has made it clear he wants to get to the bottom of this.
