The Yemeni Houthi Militas Attempted To Attack The World’s Holiest City By Firing A Missile At Mecca
Thursday night, Saudi Arabia witnessed an attack as a missile was aimed at the holy city.
Luckily, Saudi Arabia’s air defences were able to shoot down the missile only 70 kilometres from Mecca, where the act of hajj is preformed.
Saudi Arabia hosts millions of Muslims from around the world, making them a target for the Yemeni Houthi militias who allegedly fired the missile.
Saudi reiterated its commitment to fighting the Houthi militia
In response to the attacks, Saudi released a statement saying that not only was the attack clearly ‘a desperate attempt to disrupt the hajj season’ but that they will also continue fighting the Houthi militia whilst supporting the legitimate Yemini government.
