An academy for Arab poets has been set up by the Emir of Makkah and Adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal at Taif University. On Saturday, Prince Khaled announced that the idea for the academy sprung about five years ago and he aims for it to be a leading cultural institution and will be a hub for Arab identity.
But of course, this does not mean that the Academy won’t pave way for an international outlook as well as the local one, as reported by Saudi Gazette.

The Academy will be located in the courtyard of the King Saud Historical Palace and its architectural designs surely reflect the poetry and art that it promises to serve. Students will be able to partake in seminars, lectures, poetry nights, debates and speeches.
Apart from all that, The Academy also plans to honor creativity in students with the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal prize, with a SAR1 million allocated for support. Two categories will result in two separate prizes: SAR 600,000 for the elderly and SAE 400,000 for creatives under the age of 30.
