Bunk beds will be provided to South Asian pilgrims in Mina tents for the very first time, all thanks to The Ministry of Haj and Umrah. According to Saudi Gazette, these bunk beds are being ensured by the ministry to meet all the safety standards.

The bunk beds are being placed for comfort of the pilgrims
Muhammad Saleh Bantan, the Kingdom’s Minister of Haj and Umrah, said that the ministry chose to use bunk beds to make pilgrims more at ease and have comfort. It is not, however, placed to accommodate more pilgrims.

At the moment, only South Asian pilgrims will be accommodated with the bunk beds in their tents. But if the trial session of the new initiative works well, it could very well be used in the tents of other pilgrims.
