Thousands Of Pakistani Doctors In Saudi Arabia Are Set To Lose Their Jobs As Their MS And MD Degrees Are Rejected By The Health Ministry

Tens of thousands of Pakistani doctors work in Saudi Arabia, however, for those working with an MS (Master of Surgery) and MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree from Pakistan might be at risk of losing their jobs as their degrees have been rejected by Saudi Arabia’s Health Ministry.

According to the Indian financial newspaper Live Mint, the move has rendered hundreds of Pakistani doctors jobless.

The reason cited by the Health Ministry for the unprecedented move is that the MS and MD degrees from Pakistan lacked a structured training programme.

It isn’t only Saudi Arabia that has implemented these new measures, the kingdoms other neighbours like the UAE, Bahrain and Qatar also took a similar step.
