Trees Are Being Planted In Al Ahsa For A New Super Cool Initiative To Grow 10 MILLION Trees In Saudi

“Forest of Joatha”, a planting initiative by the Environment Agency at the Ministry of Environment, launched this weekend in Al Ahsa’s National Park and everybody was in full smiles in the duration of the event. 

The event is set to continue for the next two months and any students in schools, colleges, volunteer teams and more are welcome to join during the morning hours and help plant trees.

What an amazing thing for the community to do together!

Why are they planting trees?

The project is an extension of an initiative by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture- where they plan to grow 10 MILLION trees in the Kingdom for the National Transformation Program 2020.

The reason for this is to create a more sustainable Saudi Arabia with the developments of forests and vegetation covers, hence the oasis Al- Ahsa as first location. 

The initiative will help plant 2 MILLION trees in this Al- Ahsa park alone 

Using only water and the latest irrigation methods.

In case you didn’t know, Al Ahsa is located 20km from Hofuf and has a million different types of trees
