US President Donald Trump says he agrees with the Kingdom’s Saturday account and investigation into what happened to Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was valid, reports Saudi Gazette.

Although he has stressed that it is currently too early in the investigation stage to discuss conclusions, “it’s a very important first step and it happened sooner than people thought it would happen.”

The investigations are still ongoing

During his speech at a MAGA rally in Arizona, Trump reiterated how unacceptable the recent occurrences have been and that ‘Saudi Arabia has been a great ally.’

Trump praised the rapidity in which the results of the preliminary investigation were issued and says he would speak with the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman soon.

The White House said it would continue to press for “justices that is timely, transparent, and in accordance with all due process”.
