News from Saudi Arabia this morning announced that HH King Salman bin Abdualziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has appointed his 31-year-old son as Crown Prince, relieving Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef of his duties.
The reasons for these changes in the Saudi monarchy were not revealed.
President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai have both sent congratulatory messages to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia, following his appointment of Prince Mohammed bin Salman as the Kingdom’s Crown Prince.
