Following several media reports on the death of two Saudi sisters, Rotana and Tala Farea, the Saudi Embassy in New York have released an official statement.
The bodies of the 22-year-old Rotana Farea and 16-year-old Tala Farea were both discovered bound together and washed up on the shores of the Hudson River in New York.
Consulate sources have revealed that the autopsy results have yet to be released and that investigations are currently ongoing.
The statement mentions that details of the case are being held private to avoid ‘inaccurate reporting’ and that the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Washington D.C. , the U.S. Department of State and all other rightful authorities are following the case closely.

The statement made by the Consul General also highlighted on the fact that a lawyer had been appointed to look into the case and determine its legal outcomes.
Al Arabiya reported that police inspected no obvious signs of trauma on the bodies and that they were found fully clothed. The two bodies were found on Wednesday by a passer-by in the afternoon who directed the information via a 911 call.
