Iran sent more than 300 missiles and drones to attack Israel this Sunday. Reports indicated that the attack was in retaliation to the Israeli strike on an Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria on April 1, 2024. Due to the military escalation between the two countries, bordering regions including Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and others had temporary closed off their air spaces.

This resulted in many flights to be re-routed over Saudi Arabia

The countries have however now re-opened their borders, allowing international and domestic flights to continue over the region. Israel has been continuously launching attacks on Gaza killing thousands of people, resulting in many countries calling for an immediate ceasefire.
