On a recent historic trip to Russia, The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Salman received an honorary doctorate from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

The doctorate recognises King Salman’s role in the recent strengthened bond between Russia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

King Salman thanked MGIMO for the doctorate and followed it with a joke that left the audience in applause 

“I am now Dr. Salman,” he joked. 

The King has left Moscow and is on his way back to Riyadh following the eventful trip 

During the trip, The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Salman said “Science and knowledge are the bases for the advancement of nations by creating an educated generation that will lead society and contribute to enhancing tolerance and coexistence among people,” after receiving the award.
