YAAS: Saudi Arabia Is Granting Umrah Visas In Less Than 24 Hours

Avatar

Up until now pilgrims who have wanted to travel to Saudi Arabia had to visit the Saudi embassy or consulate that is located in their country, submit the documentation and then wait for the visa. The whole process just got revamped and it has become a whole lot easier.

According to the Saudi Gazette, a new portal has been set up by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah that will issue e-visas for pilgrims.

The new portal is called “the central platform for the electronic issuance of the Umrah visas”

The best part is that the whole process takes less than 24 hours.

The ministry’s undersecretary, Abdulaziz Wazzan, has said that he expects 10 million Umrah visas to be issued in the new season, most of them through the new platform.

Earlier, this month there was another breakthrough for pilgrims as a previous restriction barring pilgrims from travelling to other cities in Saudi Arabia has been lifted.
