If a company has a bad reputation for poor products, for example, that can affect sales overall and the companies share price. Even though the staff might be super talented. The product may not even be that bad, they just may be poorly marketed, or may be outdated. The there may be great foundations to that company, with strong vision and values.
For the first time, we are seeing signs that the vision of the country is been listened to internationally, and the talents of its people are being appreciated on a level playing field. We are seeing a country putting its people, the economy, and their well-being first. Why not support it, get behind it.
Supporting what’s happening in Saudi Arabia doesn’t mean that change needs to be 360 degrees. Most of what makes Saudi great is the people and culture that already exist. Understanding that first, and be receptive to that fact that not everything needs to change.
Here are five wishes Lovin Saudi has of the rest of the world
Why does western media have to have an agenda against the Middle East?
For many years Saudi Arabia’s reputation has been bashed about in western media because of political and human rights topics. Any attempt to understand either hasn’t seen the light of day. So much of what’s published has a negative slant, it would be refreshing to see neutral or even positive reports about Saudi Arabia.
There have been a lot of changes in Saudi society announced in 2017 as part of steps towards Vision 2030. Most western media reaction is ‘This is too little to late’, or ‘Not enough change’. It’s all so negative. Change takes time. Conservatism isn’t evil. Do they realize how much backlash is happening internally to change and that implementation of this vision is fragile? Encouragement and support for the rulers of Saudi Arabia is needed by everyone.
Wouldn’t it be great if media in other parts of the world made more of an effort to discover Saudi Arabia? We don’t want to see ‘I went and it’s not that bad’, ‘I met Saudi people and they made me laugh’, but more to look at the country without preconceptions.
When politics get in the way of progress, either in a company or in a country, the consumers or the people suffer. Internally, Saudis traveling, living or studying abroad are not given the same chance as others. Similarly, when the Saudi economy, suffers, the people feel the effect.
It would be amazing if people around the world started exploring the cultural depts of Saudi Arabia and the talents of it’s people? Whether it’s entrepreneurs, actors, comedians or chefs. This can start with consuming media on Saudi, meeting people and traveling as a tourist.
