Riyadh, the country’s capital and prominent financial hub, with a population of more than 5 million people- there’s more than enough to do, people to meet and places to see.
To help you round up a list of what to do during your stay in Riyadh, here’s a list of the 18 things to tick off your Riyadh bucket list:

1. Visit the Masmak Fort
This fort has seen history from the early 1900s , as it was here that the recapture of Riyadh, led by Ibn Saud, took place.
2. Watch the beautiful King Abdullah Park Fountain at night
Enjoy the fountain show that is akin to Dubai Mall’s, you can also enjoy picnics as the park, go jogging and children can enjoy skating or cycling there too.

3. Go Bowling!
There’s several places to try your hand at bowling in Riyadh, but Universal Bowling Centre is one with great reviews.

4. Take a couple of snaps and insta-shots al Al-Maalem Park
How vivid and Instaworthy does this look?
There’s also a 350 square metre lake and a garden where you can chill with family or friends.
5. Learn to ride a horse (if you don’t already know how)
There’s a few equestrian clubs in Riyadh that offer horse riding lessons, or simply just let you get on if you already know how. This is a great tick off your bucket list, especially because there’s something significant about Arabian horses and galloping about in the summer wind.

7. Get your adrenaline pumping by playing Paint BALL!
Don’t worry, they teach you all you need to know prior to playing. It’s fun and definitely an adrenaline-pump!

8. Visit the Al Faisaliah Mall
It’s not hard to miss this skyscraper-like mall located in the Kingdom Centre, Riyadh. Beautiful inside and out with an endless array of shops, restaurants, cafes and sweet shops.

10. Learn a bit more by visiting the National Museum
Launched in 1999, this museum features a lot of interesting artefacts for your eyes to feast and more history to learn from. It is part of the King Abdulaziz Historical Centre in Riyadh.

11. Visit the animals at Riyadh Zoo and show some love
Best to see this during winter as it gets too hot in the summer to enjoy, but it’s a definite hit for the children!

12. Drive to Wadi Namar!
To get a bit of that peaceful alone time..
13. MUST-TRY: chocolates from Aani & Dani’s chocolatier

14. Scuba diving under caves?
Well, you can try if you’re an experienced cave diver who can go 30meters or more underwater. Prior to that, you can take scuba diving lessons or simply just visit and check out the caves on land.
15. Re-live your childhood at Al Hokair Land
It’s like Riyadh’s smaller but just as enjoyable Disney.
16. Go HIKING
Great way to shed off the pounds, keep fit and see all of what Riyadh’s nature has to offer. Just look at this video of fellow hiker capturing the beauty of the desert.
17. Go drifting (legally)
FunXtreme, located on Dirab road, is a perfect place for those wishing to race like they do on GTA.. except in karts.
18. Have Nandos!
There’s only one place in the entire country that serves these delicious chicken and peri-peri sauce, so enjoy it in Riyadh as the last tick off your bucket list!
