Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has finally given his two-cents on the Saudi-Canada dispute two months ago. In an 80-minute interview with Bloomberg at the royal palace in Riyadh last Wednesday, MBS explained how Canada was wrong in its interference over the country’s internal affairs.
The entire transcript of the interview was published by Bloomberg online on Friday, to which we have taken some of these excerpts:
“It’s totally different. Canada, they gave an order to Saudi Arabia on an internal issue. It’s not an opinion of Canada about Saudi Arabia as much as they are giving an order to a different country. So we believe this is a totally different issue. Trump is speaking to his own people inside the United States of America about an issue.”

When asked about what Saudi Arabia will do in terms of the relationship with Canada currently, MBS reiterated that Canada should apologise and know that they have made a mistake.
“It’s up to them. They’ve taken actions against UN law and against diplomatic principles. They interfered in issues that are not Canadian issues. They’re not Canadian citizens, they’re not Canadian interests. They’re totally Saudi domestic interests. And they’re not allowed to do that. The media can talk about any issue.”
“They have to apologize. Simply. And they have to know that they have made a mistake. I believe they know that they have made a mistake, but we will see how we can get things back again.”
