The team went to check out the meteorite in the Empty Quarter of the desert, reports Al Arabiya. The location it was situated in was since called ‘Wobar’, high-quality photos of the finds taken by American photographer Thomas J. Abercrombie show a good deal of what it might have felt like being there.

The meteorite, weighing 3.5-ton, was first discovered by the British explorer St. John Philby in 1932. It has been suggested that the Wobar meteor struck this part of the world nearly 400 years ago.
