Mosques Lay Almost Empty As Saudi Celebrates Ramadan From Home<\/em><\/p>\n

A small number of people are permitted to pray at the Grand Mosque this year but in comparison to other years, mosques across Saudi lay virtually empty.<\/p>\n

As precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19<\/a>, public prayers during the Holy Month have been stopped.\u00a0The total number of COVID-19<\/span>\u00a0cases in the Kingdom currently stands at 30,251, including 24,620 active cases and 143 critical cases. <\/span><\/p>\n

Usually one of the busiest periods of the year, The Holy Mosque is now virtually empty<\/h2>\n

Some worshippers are permitted<\/a>, but there are strict social distancing rules in place.<\/p>\n

The Saudi Minister for Health announced some positive updates today;\u00a0Despite increasing infections, the deaths rates in Saudi Arabia are very low, the global death rate is 7 %, while it’s less than 0.7 % in Saudi.<\/p>\n

And although COVID-19 cases have increased, it’s down to increased testing happening across The Kingdom.<\/p>\n
