This includes a test of the fixed siren system in the Riyadh, Tabuk, and Makkah regions, covering areas such as Diriyah, Al-Kharj, Al-Dilam, Jeddah, and Thuwal. The exercise is designed to ensure the efficiency and readiness of Saudi Arabia’s emergency warning systems while raising public awareness about how alerts are delivered. It’s part of an ongoing effort to keep communities safe and informed in case of real emergencies.

Here’s how the drill will unfold today:

  • 1:00 PM: Warning messages will be sent to mobile phones across the Kingdom via the National Early Warning Platform, accompanied by a new behavior tone.

  • 1:10 PM: The national alert tone will sound.

  • 1:15 PM: Fixed sirens will be activated in the designated regions.

The test also includes simultaneous messages to all mobile phones in the Kingdom, using a distinctive audio tone to make sure everyone is aware of the alert system.

Residents are reminded that this is just a planned drill, so there’s no cause for alarm

However, it’s a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the alert sounds and understand how the system works in case of an actual emergency.

Stay safe, stay alert, and don’t be startled by today’s sirens…they’re all part of keeping the Kingdom prepared!
