Saudi Arabia issued almost 12 million visas<\/a> to expats just last year and it’s easy to see why.<\/p>\n

The country\u00a0always been a hot-spot for pilgrims, but with the new expat visa levy, you can expect the Kingdom to attract more and more diverse visitors every month.<\/p>\n

And with the country being so vast, you might get a bit confused on things to do around the city that are fun and won’t make your wallet feel any lighter by the time you leave.<\/p>\n

1. Explore Deerah Souk<\/h3>\n

Roam around this souk, which is in the old part of the city near the Al\u00a0Masmak Fort and is famous for the little shops neighboring each other\u00a0alongside a narrow street displaying iconic things to look at or buy!<\/p>\n

Expect to find lots of carpet shops, gold and silver shops, souvenirs, antiques, traditional clothes and props and even some furniture.<\/p>\n

2. Tour Al Safi Dairy Farm<\/h3>\n

Yes this one might seem odd, but Al Safi Dairy farm is one of the world’s largest dairy farm and you can totally tour it to see how your favourite products are made.<\/p>\n

Located in Al Kharj, the farm was opened in 1979 when Prince Abdullah Al Faisal bought 6,500 cows from Amsterdam all the way back to Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

And if you’re lucky, you might witness a\u00a0baby cow attempt at taking its first steps!<\/p>\n

3. Go to the National Museum<\/h3>\n

A no brainer when it comes to exploring a country on a budget is to explore country’s history through its national museums.<\/p>\n

This popular museum is located in Riyadh and is part of\u00a0King Abdul Aziz Historical center. It is also one of the largest museums in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Expect to find topics dating back to\u00a0the\u00a0creation of the universe till today,\u00a0with an emphasis on the history of the Arabian Peninsula.<\/p>\n

4. Visit the Sky bridge<\/h3>\n

Look down and enjoy\u00a0the city’s views from the high levels at Sky bridge located at the Kingdom centre.<\/p>\n

It’s a unique landmark rising on top of a 300-meter tower and overlooking the city of Riyadh.<\/p>\n

Making it a touristic hot-spot, this\u00a0option will cost you but it’s totally worth the view goals you’ll be seeing from up there, no matter what time you go!<\/p>\n

5. Visit Riyadh’s zoo<\/h3>\n

This one is great if you’re visiting with the\u00a0whole family or just looking for a way to spend your Friday with your loved ones.<\/p>\n

The Riyadh Zoo is the Kingdom’s largest and houses almost 40 different species of animals, train rids and prayer halls.<\/p>\n

It first opened up in 1987 and is still a memorable touristic spot in the country, so enjoy it while the weather is cool!<\/p>\n
