Saudi Arabia has been recognised by the Guiness World Book of Records once again, but this time for having the largest modern olive plantation in the world.<\/strong> Saudi Press Agency announced the news on Wednesday, following Al Jouf Agricultural Development Company’s receiving of the certificate from Guinness.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The olive farm by\u00a0Al Jour<\/em>\u00a0stretches over 7730 hectares of land with 5 million olive trees\u00a0<\/h3>\n

When accepting the certificate, Al Jour’s managing director Abdulaziz Bin Mohammed Al Hussain, said that the accoldae took nearly 10 years of hard work. The Guinness World Records also acknowledged, reportedly, the production capacity of 15000 tonnes of olive oil despite the Kingdom’s consumption that doubles that amount.<\/p>\n

The next step for Al Jouf<\/h3>\n

Al Hussain said the company plans to produce natural cosmetics and pickled olives next. The recent Olive festival in January truly highlighted al Jouf’s potential to many of the visitors. Its farms are located in Sakaka city, north-west of the Kingdom. The city, according to Gulf News, dates back to more than 4,000 years and is home to date and olive farms.<\/p>\n
