When traveling by plane over Saudi Arabia especially in the northern part of the country, you can’t absolutely not notice these circular discs in the desert.<\/p>\n

These are actually farms that use ground water for irrigation and irrigate the barren desert using a machine that spins in a circular motion; hence the discs.<\/p>\n

There’s normally a cluster of them together growing all sorts of crops. This time-lapse will give you an idea of how deserts are being turned into fertile farmlands.<\/p>\n
